2 Nights Cotswolds for £149pp2 Nights Cotswolds for £149pp

Cirencester, United Kingdom

We’re sipping a local ale (hello, foam moustache) with Secret Escapes to bring you 2 nights in Cirencester for £149pp based on two people sharing. That’s £100 off the normal price AND you get £25 dinner credit per person, per night, AND (seriously) Full English breakfast incl too...

We don’t want to call it a steal, but it feels like daylight robbery 💰

Travel in October to March. The number of nights is flexible - ideal for a cheeky pre-Christmas getaway (the markets are 5th and 6th Dec) 🎄 One more thing! Your trip includes free cancellation and is fully refundable.

Cirencester, eh?

The Capital of the Cotswolds is doing the MOST to convince people that it's more than a sleepy English town...

Sure, there’s rolling hills straight out of a postcard and chocolate box houses 🍫 But Cirencester’s also packing some of the best pubs in the country, a Roman Amphitheatre (!), and artisanal markets.

Bonus? You can drive here from London in a couple of hours or get the train and hop off at Kemble. It’s a short taxi ride from here.

Where will I sleep?

In an architectural masterpiece that used to be owned by an Elizabethan sheriff. Casual.

The Kings Head Hotel is the best bits of a typical Cotswolds boozer - timber frames, massive stone fireplace, cosy bar. But it’s been elevated and modernised with an open-plan kitchen, contemporary artwork, and luxe velvet furnishings.

It dates back to the 14th century. Which means you’ll be floating down the balustraded staircase for breakfast like a Pride and Prejudice character 💅 Your Superior Room has a king-size bed, luxe linens, a walk-in shower (or bath, shower combo), LCD TV, and cosy seating area. Got a dog? Check ahead! Some superior rooms allow canine sidekicks 🐩

What will I do?

Corinium Dobunnorum (Cirencester) was the second-largest Roman settlement in the country after Londinium (London). Which means the Corinium Museum is not your average history trip 🤓 It’s a 4-minute walk from your hotel and it’s packing Bronze Age axes, Bodiacia’s Tombstone, and Medieval ‘earscoops’ used to clear wax. Nice.

Want some fresh air and art after those dusty Roman ruins? The Cotswolds Sculpture Park has got you covered 🍃 It’s 10 acres of open-air exhibits like Metamophoman, John Williams’ massive Bronze man escaping from the ground. Tick off grizzly bears, oversized cherries, and what look like ringwraiths with exposed rib cages. A 20-minute bus ride from your hotel.

For your evening eats, the hotel has its own MBB Brasserie where you get £25 off per person, per night 🦐 It’s a locals fave for a reason. Starters include stuff like New Forest mushroom on local sourdough, then it’s on to Goan monkfish curry for mains, and treacle and coconut tart for dessert.
