4 LUXE BARNS FOR 2021
"I want to be rolled up in a blanket like a burrito and drip-fed coffee and wine until this is all over..."
Sorta feels like our retinas are going to combust when they see actual daylight again. But when the day does come that we're let loose, we figured you'd want some snuggly close to home options to have a minibreak in.
Here are 4 of our fave luxury barn stays in the UK for 2021...
The Little Hop House
Cambridge, United Kingdom
£65 a night, sleeps 2.
Sleeping in an old hop store? Sounds like a cry for help.
But this barn has replaced beers with cosy furnishings and mod cons. Outside there’s a sun trap terrace for morning coffees. Inside there’s a log burner, underfloor heating, and a fully fitted kitchen.
You’re a short drive from Cambridge (and there’s parking) but really you could spend a few nights just in the village. There’s two pubs, a cafe, and a farm shop to stock up at.
The Old Apple Store
North Devon , United Kingdom
£257 a night, sleeps 4.
Walk in one direction for the beach, the other for the village pub… that’s the kinda geography we like.
This barn is sitting pretty close to Lee Bay in North Devon. Outside there’s a cedar-clad hot tub and large dining table for BBQs. Or you can hunker down inside. This place has got Smart TV with Sky, Bluetooth speakers, coffee machine, and a wood burning stove
Cornwall, United Kingdom
£222 a night, sleeps 2.
It’s been a long lockdown already. So we’re going to go right ahead with another boozy barn…
The Moonshine Shack has a hot tub on the porch and an open fireplace. You don’t need to hear anymore, but we’ll tell you anyway. There’s a Smart TV, a roll-top bath, and fancy Duck Island toiletries.
This guy’s a Cornish gem two miles inland, close to Bude.
Cotswolds, United Kingdom
£136 a night, sleeps 2.
We want to know this barn’s doctor… Because it’s had a serious facelift.
It might be medieval, but inside it’s all oak floorboards with underfloor heating, Smart TVs and PS4 Pro. Follow the spiral staircase upwards to the bedroom with bamboo bed linen or hang out in the kitchen with the Nespresso machine. We feel you.
There’s a handful of restaurants and cafes nearby - try Lynwood.
