7 Nights Madeira for £523pp7 Nights Madeira for £523pp

Madeira, Portugal

Leafy hillsides trickle into harbours and in Old Town seafood bars and centuries-old cathedrals shack up together…

Madeira, we MISSED you 😘

We’re heading to this green list approved archipelago with TUI Holidays for a 7-night stay for £573pp. That price is based on two of you sharing and it includes 15kg of luggage and breakfast. PLUS whack the code SUMMER in at checkout for an extra £100 off your holiday. That works out as £523pp. Maths, ey?

Run don’t walk. This will sell like Portuguese hot cakes 🧁

Funchal, eh?

The clue’s in the name guys. Let the good times roll 🎲

Funchal is the vibey capital of Portugal’s Madeira archipelago. It’s a patchwork of rugged hills, luxe resort strips, and charming cobbled streets.

On land, there are blooming botanical gardens. In the harbour, dinky fishing boats bob about ⛵ And underground? Madeira wine cellars. Obvs.

Where will I sleep?

You’ll be living out your Ariel fantasy… or Ursula. Whatever floats your boat 🦀

Point is, Hotel Baia Azul is perched on a rugged hillside dotted with prickly palms and overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. From your balcony (hey, baller) you’ll have mountain views and sparkly seascapes to ogle 👀

You’re close enough to the centre - half an hour by hotel shuttle bus or 15 minutes by taxi - but set apart just a short stroll from a pebbly beach and the promenade. Best bits include the three swimming pools and restaurants plus the spa with steam bath, sauna, and massage rooms.

What will I do?

Your hotel pretty much backs onto Panoramic Park. Which does what it says on the tin. This leafy patch is sprouting palms and purple-pink flowers 🌺 Ideal for a morning coffee sesh.

It’s a 10-minute walk along the sparkly coast to Praia do Gorgulho… that’s ‘beaut beach’, to you and me. Worked up an appetite? It’s also just 10 minutes to Leeno's. This restaurant is the baddest seafood joint in the game 🦐 Come for blistered prawns with a smokey char, silky strips of ceviche, and airy tempura mussels.

The hotel has a shuttle into Funchal. Tick off Quinta do Palheiro for 3,000 species of plants, the 16th-century cathedral and the Monte Cable Car. Then you’ll want to head to the Rua Santa Maria area for alfresco eats. You’ll see the Art of Open doors project - brightly painted doors and street murals.
