THE LESLIE-LOHMAN MUSEUM OF GAY & LESBIAN ART
New York, United States
“The world’s only LGBTQ museum dedicated to preserve and exhibit art that speaks about the LGBTQ experience”
Set up by dream couple Charles W. Leslie and J. Frederic “Fritz” Lohman, the pair had a passion for homoerotic art and wanted to preserve LGBTQ cultural heritage after the AIDS crisis.
It’s now home to over 30, 000 pieces of art from a queer perspective 🍆🍑🍒
The museum hosts events, lectures and exhibitions throughout the year all exploring and celebrating the LGBTQ experience.
Catch JEB's (Joan E. Biren) 'Being Seen Makes a Movement Possible' exhibition running til May 2010 which looks at the power of photos to document and bring visibility to the LGBTQ movement.
It’s like Call Me By Your Name on speed 🤤
