Free Shiz
For such a pocket-stripping city, there’s a surprising number of COMPLETELY FREE peng sights. Start with a wander around the Old Town, taking pictures of cutesy houses and flower baskets like a regular Insta gobshite. You’ll also want to get eyefuls of THAT lake. Lake Geneva's a stunner, sitting pretty under the Northern Alps, she’s begging for your arse to sit on her banks and stare out at her massive Jet d'eau (water fountain).
The best place to keep your cash in check is at the Perle du Lac park. In summer locals come to sunbathe, BBQ and generally chill. Bring a book and soak up lake views in a flowery haze. At night things get even better… Cine Transit is a pop-up outdoor cinema that set up here in July and August. Grab a bottle of wine for the cheapest date going in the whole of Switzerland.
Or if you’re more of an indoor type the Art & History Museum and Natural History Museum are free admission.

Under a Tenner
A tenner gets you... one drink.Yeah your best bet is to grab a bottle of wine or a few cans and drink in the parks or by the lake but if you’re after a cocktail and a view head to Les Voiles.

Splashing Out
Eating out in any restaurant in Geneva is ‘splashing out’ so you may as well go whole hog.Izumi is a Michelin starred sushi bar on the rooftop of The Four Seasons… You’re rich now 💁
L'Adresse Bistro is more low-key with a ‘slunch’ menu (dins on Saturday with early bird prices). It’s a converted artist’s workshop complete with a rooftop terrace.
Or if you’re feeling very ‘Swiss’ head for Le Gruyérien (about £20 for a main) for its classic moitié-moitié fondue.
This part of the world is all about that fresh pow. Geneva’s surrounded by boutique ski resorts and the famous Chamonix. But there’s a cheaper option too. Les Houches charges £200 for a week’s skiing pass ⛷ 🤑
