What can we say about the Dam that hasn’t already been said?

The Netherlands' most hedonistic city is a syrupy stroopwafel of culture. When you aren’t hitting coffee shops and licking trees in Vondelpark, you’ll be biking around modern art galleries, and canal-hopping through the cobbled streets.

Where will I sleep?

We’ve never met a converted 19th-century townhouse we didn’t like. And this one happens to have a jammy spot on a quiet side street off Museum Square.

Once you’ve re-caffeinated catch the tram (just over 20 mins) to Plastic Whale. Whaling in Amsterdam? Chill, this ain’t Seaworld. This fishing company has built boats out of discarded plastic. Join a small group and cruise along the canal scooping out plastic. Your catch is then used to make office furniture.
