7 Nights 5* Mauritius £1278pp

7 Nights 5* Mauritius £1278pp

Gimme dream holiday buzzwords…

“Adults only. 5*. Beach. Eco. Himalayan salt spa.”

Weirdly specific… but, yeah. We can do that. Say hello to 7 nights Mauritius for £1353. BUT you get £150 off (cos we like you). Just whack LH150 in at checkout and watch the money fall off - makes this trip £1278pp.

Don’t want to be dramatic, but if you had to sell your soul to go on this trip - it’d be worth it.

Mauritius, eh?

Lagoons, reefs, waterfalls, mountains… this Indian Ocean island is Mother Nature’s CV.

And she’s tasty too.

A delicious mash-up of Creole, Chinese, African, Indian, and French - spend afternoons chomping your way through curries (Mauritian cari), flatbreads (dhal puri), and punchy chilli fritters (gateaux piment).

Where will I sleep?

Furniture and art by local makers, ethically sourced food made from scratch, and a barista… We repeat. A barista. If this adults only eco boutique hotel is what heaven is like - we’re going to be better.

Designed by Camille Walala, the hotel took inspo for it’s lewk from the pink sunsets and green sugarcane fields. Rooms come with handmade king-size beds that were made in collaboration with physios, a yoga mat, all natural beauty products (no plastic), and Roberts radios.

Down in The Good Kitchen, they do food for ‘modern nomads’, which means stuff like confit tuna and crab tacos with smashed avo and mango salsa. There’s a bakery and barista (yes, we're obsessed) and a spa with it’s own Himalayan salt room.

Lastly, there’s the rooftop bar. Try not to weep as you work your way through the menu. Every cocktail has a story behind it, like No Smoke Without Fire which is inspired by the sugar cane that's burned during harvest. Think red chilli and tamarind.

What will I do?

The hotel gives guests a guide put together by locals and it's cram jam full of once-in-a-lifetime-pinch-me-Sharon-not-that-hard experiences. Here are some of our faves:

Hike Le Morne mountain, learning about the legends and myths surrounding it, then have a picnic lunch at La Prairie by the sea. Or learn about the life of sugarcane farmers, how to cut cane in the traditional way, and how to make a rum-based cocktail. Finally, you could go on a foodie trip to Flacq market. After you’ll get a cooking class with the chef and eat a dinner made with ingredients you brought earlier that day.

Listen, you’re right on the beach with a diving centre and a tropical fruit shop next door… this is actual paradise.
