Lloret de Mar, eh?

Lloret de Mar… sounds like the most spenny thing on the menu.

This chilled-out town is in the Costa Brava, which is Spain’s Catalonia region. It’s dripping in sunshine, medieval hilltop castles, and sea views to make you a believer.

Where will I sleep?

Augusta Hotel is cosy, warm, and spotlessly clean. We like that. It’s not the most modern of places, but it’s pools and spa are still Little Mermaid-levels of good and it’s close to all the best beaches.

What will I do?

Platja de Lloret de Mar is slightly closer to you, but we like Cala Banys. It’s a 15-minute walk away and is a stretch of sand circled by tumble-down rocks and palm trees 🌴

For sepia-castle-goodness, take a 20-minute stroll to Castell d’en Playa. It’s a fairytale castle playing hide and seek in the cliffs 🏰 It’s also next to another great beach - Cala d’en Trons. After all that walking, hit Restaurant Al Freskito for cast iron skillets of silky paella.
