THE MAGRITTE MUSEUM

Brussels, Belgium

Nice apple mate 🍏

Welcome to the famous Margritte museum. Brussels isn't just beer and chocolate...

René Magritte was Belgium’s greatest surrealist painter. He showed the world a new perspective that made anything possible…
You’ll find the largest collection of his works at The Magritte Museum (makes sense).

On special occasions a surrealist curtain hangs over the classical building, making it look like a Magritte itself.
But head inside for a journey through the artist’s life, with different artistic periods shown on each floor.

Spot world-famous paintings (like those cloud ones) and a huge collection of works from Magritte’s “vache” period.
Aside from the paintings, you’ll see advertising posters, photography and films from the artist's’ life and his friends.

He was greatly influenced by his wife Georgette who remained his muse all her life #relationshipgoals
"I love subversive humour, freckles, knees, the long hair of women, the dreams of young children at liberty, a young girl running in the street."

And we love you Magritte.
