Guy Fawkes and his mates tried to blow up the Houses of Parliament (lad, lads, lads). So each year we now light massive bonfires and burn ‘guys’ or set Catherine Wheels off.

Ally Pally
Head to Alexandra Palace for a German Bier Fest, music from Trevor Nelson, and an ice disco. Dodge the fire jugglers on your way to the funfair.

Leyton Jubilee Park
A daytime, family-friendly event to celebrate Diwali. Head to the park and get crafty. You can make tealight holders, decorate Diwali cards, and create nature rangolis (patterned artworks).

Barnes Bonfire Night
Like your Guy Fawkes to have a competitive edge? These guys have a ‘best guy’ comp. The winner get to light the official bonfire. There’s also a bar serving up mulled wine.
Bonfire is lit at 7pm on Nov 6th.
Harrow Firework Display
Byron Park is putting on a Diwali dance extravaganza. Make your way here for Diwali art and henna tattoos followed by a 20 minute firework display.
