Normally when you’re at a festival and you see a dancing rainbow flame demon, it’s time for a glass of OJ and a lie-down.

But at the World Bodypainting Festival, flame demons come as standard.

A sort of bodypaint convention - artists come from all over to spraypaint strangers’ bare flesh.

Anything goes: winners have included skeletons, stationery, the summer of love and a candy shop.

Held in dreamy Klagenfurt, by Lake Wörthersee, the festival kicks off with bodypainting workshops.

‘Bodypaint City’ then opens to 30,000 members of the public to look at all the bumcheeks (erm... art).

The festival ends when the best bodypainter gets crowned. Everyone cuts loose at the ‘provocative ball’ in the castle (rum + glow-in-the-dark-demons 😈 ). In the morning, everyone jumps in the lake.

The festival's in Austria, but it’s easiest to get there from Ljubljana (just over an hour drive).
