England vs Germany: Travel Face Off

ENGLAND VS GERMANY: TRAVEL FACE OFF

Die- hard football fan? Or just here for Phil Foden’s bleach blonde crop?

England and Germany are playing tonight and to celebrate we’re putting these countries head to head for a travel faceoff. Not just any faceoff. In true Brit style, we’ve chosen two underdog cities and pitted them against each other.

It’s time for Leipzig vs Manchester… And with FCO guidelines advising against international travel, football’s gotta be coming home this time.

Leipzig

Leipzig, Germany

Berlin might be the lion of the concrete jungle but it has a contender nipping at its ankles… Say hallo to Leipzig.

Once a communist, coal-mining, industrial pit, these days it’s sprouting with nomadic, artsy types, pop ups and converted factories.

Check out sprawling street art, follow narrow passages to techno raves and step into former East Germany’s haunting past.
Need to know: Leipzig is 16% cheaper than Berlin - and Berlin is cheap as fook.

Do one thing: Head to Conne Island - Leipzig's cultural heart, for experimental shows, music, art.

Manchester

Manchester, United Kingdom

‘And on the sixth day, God created Man...chester’ The street art in town might be a bit OTT, but it shows how much Mancunians love their city.

The unofficial capital of the north is famous for football, music, politics and inventing computers - no biggie.

Small enough to walk around, but with enough going on to keep you busy for years, Manchester is a hotpot of people all out for a good time.
Need to know: Manchester was where communism, being veggie and gals voting started in the UK.

Do one thing: Gay-tabulous Canal Street will leave you broken (but covered in rainbow feathers).

Who comes out on top?

Like Joachim Löw having a cheeky sniff... all eyes are on you 👀

You've got to choose which of these underdog cities tickles your pickle...
