Europe's Weirdest Beaches

EUROPE'S WEIRDEST BEACHES

Golden sand, blue sea… and tie-dye rocks?

Forget everything you thought you knew about beaches…

Moon Beach

Milos, Greece

For some crazy geography reasons no one cares about, Sarakiniko beach looks exactly like THE MOON.

Mince about like a regular Neil Armstrong, but in 35 degree heat and with zero astronaut training.

There’s also WW2 tunnels and shipwrecks to explore…

Nab a ferry then a taxi from Corfu.

Alien Beach

Kalamata, Greece

You’d have to be sniffing Pritt Stick to drive past this bit of coast.

Voidokilia Beach is shaped like the Greek omega letter (Ω). As well as looking like THAT, it has a 13th century castle and a cave that turned up in Homer’s Odyssey.

An hour and 15 drive from Kalamata.

Tie-Dye Beach

Milos, Greece

Kastanas beach looks like raspberry ripple ice-cream, if there’d been a leak at Wall’s and every single flavour had rippled in by mistake.

The tie-dye print on the rocks is caused by some cheeky nearby volcanos, giving the beach its sunset hues.

Get a 2 hour sea jet from Santorini to Milos, then it’s a 10 min drive - once you get there, you’ll have it aaaaaall to yourself.
