1. Brockwell Park Lido

Brockwell Park’s got it all. The Lambeth County Show (22nd July), a famous brunch cafe in an art deco building and… a super chill lido. Come any time of year to dip your toes but in summer catch special events like film screenings and ‘Lido Lates’. Swim under the moon to the sound of ambient disco or hop on a floating unicorn with a cocktail in hand. Check the website for details.

2. Tooting Bec Lido

Tooting Bec Lido is one of the largest open-air swimming spots in Europe (it’s over 90m long). Lined with colourful changing rooms, it looks like something straight out of a Wes Anderson film. This pool is unheated so you’ll freeze your nips off. Worth it.

3. London Fields Lido

For Hackney-hipster-Instagrammers look no further. London Fields Lido brings them out of the coffee roasteries and into the sparkling heated waters. Go early to nab a spot.

4. Parliament Hill Lido

If the murky waters of the Hampstead Heath ponds fill you with dread, try the nearby Parliament Hill Lido instead. It’s lined with stainless steel so the water glitters in the sun. Unlike the others, this guy is never crazy busy, so a good option if the forecast’s looking toasty.

5. Serpentine Lido

But if you’re happy to swim with ducks, swans and the occasional eel (joking, probably), then get hop into the oldest lido in London. Mad people have been coming here on Christmas Day to swim since the 1800s. It’s also bang smack in Hyde Park, so you’ll get a nice stroll in after.
