MUSEUM OF FAILURE

Malmö, Sweden

“Scuse me while I pop a Coke 2, munch down some Colgate lasagne and electrocute my face.”

There’s a reason you don’t hear this being said. And the reason is, none of these things are good ideas.

On June 7th, the Museum of Failure opens in Helsingborg (an hour from Malmo) to celebrate terrible inventions.
Exhibits include Trump: The Game (let’s not go there), the notorious BIC pens for Her (“designed to fit comfortably in a woman’s hand” 🙄 ), and the Harley Davidson perfume that smelt of petrol and burning rubber. Sure.

A lot of the items on show seem like straight-up crap ideas (shoutout to the inventor of Colgate lasagne), but museum founder Samuel West says the aim isn’t to laugh at these inventions.
"Companies are innovative, but they don't learn from their mistakes. And they keep them secret,” he says. Samuel argues that innovation comes from trying, failing, and trying again.

Having said that, whoever invented the electrocuting face mask is a nut-job.
