POST-APOCALYPTIC MILLS
Sorrento, Italy
When nature strikes back.
Now say it again in Jim Carrey’s voice.
Just behind Sorrento’s Piazza Tasso, you’ll get a glimpse of what the world might look like in a couple of thousand years… (or as soon as humans have been wiped).

The “Valle dei Mulini” or “Valley of Mills” is a collection of overgrown flour mills at the bottom of a rocky gorge.
The first mill was built waaay back in the 13th century and took advantage of the stream of water that ran through the valley.
Seeing that this odd location worked well, more mills started popping up, and a couple of businesses were still running well into the 1900s.

You get a clear view of the main mill from Via Fuorimura, which looks out over the valley.
Or to get a little closer, hike down into the ravine for some serious post-apocalyptic vibes.
