3 Magical Taps

3 MAGICAL TAPS

Not an Armitage Shanks in sight…

Taps come in all shapes and sizes - some spit, some drip, but generally they all function in more or less the same way right? Wrong.

What if there was a tap that defied all the rules? A tap that refused to be average. Welcome to Europe’s 3 Magical Taps…

Wine Tap

Estella , Spain

You’ve got Jesus to thank for this one 🙏

On the way to Santiago de Compostela (a route that Christian pilgrims have been walking for yonks) you’ll find the “Monestario de Irache“ - a monastery with its very own WINE TAP 🍷

Red wine flows from this magical tap all through the day - and it’s completely free. Supposed to be a tasty treat for passing pilgrims, anyone can get in on the vino action. Just don’t try and fill up bottles to take with you… unless you want Friar Tuck to chase you with his beating stick.

Floating Tap

Menorca, Spain

“BUT WHERE DOES THE WATER COME FROM?!!”⠀

Calm down, there must be a rational explanation for these gravity defying taps. MUSTN’T THERE?

Floating taps are bizarrely commonplace around Spain. Suspended in mid air, they’ve baffled the world for decades… 😬

Find them in parks, roundabouts and your own tap-filled nightmares.

Good Luck Tap

Rome, Italy

Getting fast and loose with the word ‘tap’, the Trevi Fountain is, quite naturally, a fountain.

These famous taps have been spurting healing water since the ancient Romans were bashing about. These days it’s glistening with coins and filled with chlorine so drinking the water’s a nish nish 🙅

You can still get all the luck from the taps by chucking in a coin of your own (or so says Hollywood Films).
