“Paris, London... Berlin? Naaah, Antalya’s the third most visited city in Europe - starfish on one of her golden beaches and you’ll get it.

This beach town has way more to offer once you’re done toasting your buns. Cable car up the Olympos mountains and have a beer with the Gods then quad bike through pine forests back on land.

On your way back to the old town, Kaleiçi, gawp at the Düden waterfalls, crashing into the Med. Shisha up here is like breathing air.

Where will I sleep?

Wedged right in the middle of Kaleiçi, this sunny stay puts you in prime wandering territory, with cobbled streets, buzzy cafés, bars, and the marina all just a wee stroll away. The beach is nearby too, when you fancy swapping sightseeing for sunbathing.

The hotel itself is tucked inside an old Ottoman house, so it’s packed with old-school Turkish touches, from wooden details to those classic bay windows jutting out over the pool.

Cool off in the outdoor pool, grab something fruity at the bar, and tuck into a free breakfast every morning.

What will I do?

This is the adventure capital of Turkey…

Try rafting down Korpolu Canyon, there’s 12 snaking rapids and plenty of gushing waterfalls to salute to as you hurtle by. Or hang with Hercules at the top of Mt. Olympos. A cable car will whisk you up for a 360 view of the riviera complete with snow-capped mountains and turquoise sea views.

If you’re on a serious culture bender, hit up the nearby Lycian tombs cut straight into the mountainside (2nd picture).
