6 Places to WFH in the UK

6 PLACES TO WFH IN THE UK

Week 1375 of working from home…

You’ve developed a crick in your neck that may never go away. You’ve memorised all the weird splodges on the wall. And your relationship with the coffee machine brings you more joy than your actual relationship… which may or may not have ended. You don’t remember.

We’ve done you a favour and found six of the best places to work remotely in the UK. From luxe cabins in the Kent countryside to charming Cotswolds retreats.

Sussex Cottage

Sussex, United Kingdom

The WFH upgrade you deserve. No, need.

Secreted away in the Sussex countryside, this cottage is more wholesome than Mary Berry. It’s a two-bedder, one is a king and the other’s a twin. The open plan living room has a modern kitchen and cosy lounge with glossy coffee table books and log burner.

Start your mornings by cooking up an omelette - with fresh eggs left by the hosts - then curl up for morning meetings on the sofa or get all formal (who you trying to impress?) on the dining room table. Come afternoon you’ll want to move the virtual office to the conservatory or private garden and sun terrace. Hard day? Soak the stress away in the year-round shared (with the hosts) pool.

The Drey

Northumberland, United Kingdom

This isn’t a sad, soggy wood cabin in a haunted-looking wood… this is the other kind. Think, sprawling one-level living with huge glass sliding doors leading out to a hot tub. Ideal.

There are 3 bedrooms - a king, double, and bunk beds - and all are light and bright. You can set your laptop up in front of the luxe kitchen to be close to the cafetiere. Or you can make the most of the lakeside setting and pitch up on one of the picnic benches.

You’re in the Northumberland National Park, which means your only neighbours will be deer and red squirrels.

Luxury Rural Barn

Kent, United Kingdom

In the middle of the countryside, but only 40 minutes (by train) from London. And it has Netflix.

SIGN. US. UP.

This luxe barn is for living out your WFH fantasy. The one where you have your own vegetable garden, castles on your doorstep, and a king size bed with fluffy duvets. Work from the sofa, or snuggled up in bed, or with a vino on the patio. There are only winners here.

Woodpecker's Rest

Dorset, United Kingdom

“Woodpecker’s Rest…

does that make me the woodpecker?”

This place is a hug of a stay. There’s a sunny little kitchen with a squishy sofa and sun trap terrace. Work from the breakfast table or you can head to the garden - it’s got a trickling brook at the bottom and a fire pit.

Sweat off that after work frustration at the tennis court before starfishing into your king-size bed. You’ve got a Smart TV and walk-in shower too.

Bracken Cottage

Brockley, United Kingdom

Bracken Cottage has been plucked right out of a fairytale. It sits on a street of houses that all used to be silk weavers’ cottages. You’ll be hunkering down in a quiet area but you’re also within easy reach of Chipping Campden, Moreton-in-Marsh and Stow-on-the-Wold.

After a day of working you can head to one of the two village pubs or go for a countryside stroll. The WiFi is good here and you’ve got a few nice WFH setups to choose from. Perch yourself on the dining room table or sink into the sofa. But your best bet is the landscaped garden.

The Dog House

Stansted, United Kingdom

A Dog House you’ll want to be banished too…

This guy’s a tall glass of water, serving all the sunny California vibes. Even though it’s actually in Saffron Walden - a charming market town.

The massive bi-fold doors open out onto a patio with a hammock and fire pit. Inside there’s a super king bed, TV with Netflix and a big kitchen with a breakfast bar.
