The Golden Circle
The Golden Circle hits you with the holy trinity of Geysir, Gullfoss and Þingvellir (say it ‘Thingvellir’).
Geysir translates as gusher… let’s leave that there. The Strokkur geyser spouts hot water round the clock, making it one of Iceland’s top sights. It shoots boiling liquid into the air every 5 mins or so - Boomerang cameras at the ready.
Gullfoss is Iceland’s Niagara Falls, with glacial water dropping 32 metres into the great Gullfossgjúfur canyon. In summer it’s usually haloed with rainbows, like something from a Lucky Charms ad 🍭
Þingvellir packs a mighty punch. The first parliament was made here by the Vikings, it’s where two tectonic plates meet at the Rift Valley and it’s pretty AF. Snorkel between continents in Silfra Gorge, then dance naked by the Oxara waterfall - this is wildling country.
Nature’s most spectacular (and elusive) light show can also be spotted round these parts.

Reykjavik is the biggest small city in the world, bursting with counter-culture and wizard architecture all within walking distance.
Be sure to hit up the Blue Lagoon, Hallgrímskirkja church and the world’s biggest dick museum. Of course.
