Sunny Beach, eh?

This part of Bulgaria draws the crowds thanks to its long sandy stretch of beach called (ya guessed it) Sunny Beach.

Sounds wholesome, but expect loads of beach bars dotted about on the sand, an Aquapark, and one of Bulgaria’s best restaurants.

Where will I sleep?

Tucked on the more chill end of Sunny Beach this adults-only gem is all about living the soft life - with the sea out front and the town only a short wander away.

Days here revolve around doing whatever you fancy. Five restaurants mean food is rarely a repeat situation, and since it’s all-inclusive, you can snack and sip without checking your wallet. The pool’s a giant cross-shape with loungers in the water, and if you want to venture out, there’s tennis, walking tours, and even bikes to rent.

The spa is your chill out zone - think steamy saunas, a sleek indoor pool, and a steam room.

What will I do?

Read a book. Go full prune. Make friends with Nemo… Y’know? Beach shiz.

Sitting pretty on powdery sand is thirsty work. Take a 15-minute stroll along the beach to one of the bars, we like Viking Beach Bar and Hidden Beach Bar.

Then stop by the UNESCO town of Nesebar. It’s just a quick 10-minute taxi ride away and is home to a 500-year-old antique Orthodox church called the Holy Mother Eleusa Church. Fun fact: the church was once buried under the sea!

In the evening head inland for Restaurant Djanny. Ask for a seat on the leafy terrace, it’s got hanging baskets and an actual water feature. Baller moves. Inside are mirrored marble columns and white leather seats. She fancy. Order the risotto with a tumble of seafood on top, of the aggressively herby prawns, or the grilled meat which is charred and falling apart. Drool.
